Alison Reid
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Ali is a Licensed Clinical Social worker dedicated to serving youth and their families. Alison earned her Bachelor’s of Psychology in 2013 and Master’s of Social Work in 2020 both from Colorado State University. Ali has experience working in special education, case management, residential adolescent inpatient treatment, and private practice settings. Ali has experience working with clients ages 3-60’s and particularly enjoys working with young people.
Ali’s passion is fostering meaningful relationships with children and adolescents which serve as the primary change agent. Alison strives to connect with each client and finds joy in developing and fostering the therapeutic alliance. With a passion for promoting mental health and well-being, Ali specializes in addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, and trauma. Utilizing a warm and empathetic approach, Ali creates a safe and nurturing environment where children and teenagers feel understood and empowered to express themselves. Ali’s approach is rooted in client-centered and humanistic approaches, centering the client and family as experts on their own experiences and healing.
Ali’s areas of interest include human development, parenting, mindfulness, and Polyvagal Theory. Ali employs a combination of play as therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT) to help youth articulate their feelings and cope with life's challenges. Understanding that each child is different, Ali takes the time to develop individualized treatment plans that foster resilience and growth. Ali is passionate about guiding young people toward a brighter, healthier future.
When not working, Ali is most likely reading, watching reality TV with her cats, or spending time in nature.
