Rory Dushman
Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate
Rory loves to work with all ages and sizes including kids, adolescents, adults, families, and couples as a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate. Coming from the world ofeducation, camp, and “mannying”, he has a sweet spot for engaging with youth and families in play and experiential therapeutic approaches. Rory was raised in Up-State New York, the suburbs of Chicago, and the North Woods of Wisconsin, where he was blessed with access to nature and continues to thrive in the great outdoors. With his wiggle room, Rory loves camping, live music, skiing, board games, and any opportunity to engage in active play and creativity. Rory loves movement and is always open to finding non-traditional ways to help clients find comfort, including therapy nature walks. He can’t wait to meet you and start on this journey of self-discovery, growth, and attunement.Rory’s invitation for Creative Change:When you walk through my door, I welcome each of you into my tribe. The innate vulnerability and humbleness of your desire for positive change are both respected and appreciated. In our shared space, values are rooted in empathy, awareness, accountability, and integrity. I believe only YOU are the true expert and historian of your life, and I graciously stand beside you on this path of exploration, healing, and endless growth. I am an ear, a tool, a voice, and at times a guide to support you on this beautiful and winding path.In our sacred, safe space, I hope to shift personal and global perspectives from fears, weaknesses, and stagnation into confidence, superpowers, and growth. My own superpowers shine throughout my therapeutic background and are harnessed through a healthy integration of my parts as a neurodiverse individual, family member, friend, educator, life-long learner, and purveyor of creativity. My inspiration for working with families and youth stems from my broad experiences of engagement across holistic pedagogical models of education and childcare. I welcome you with an open mind to broaden your perspectives, build upon your strengths, and expand your mind, body, and heart connections.
