Anne Gilmartin

Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate

Raising children often comes with unexpected challenges. Anne utilizes a family systems approach combined with techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy to improve family functioning. She assists children in regulating their emotions, modifying behaviors, and improving communication skills. Anne also gives parents the tools to meet their child's unique needs. She aims to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where all family members can reach their fullest potential.
Anne is a National Certified Counselor with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Colorado Boulder. Before working as a counselor in Fort Collins, Anne held research assistant positions at the University of Colorado's Cognitive Development Center and Stanford University's Social Learning Lab. She gained extensive experience working with children with intellectual and developmental differences as a registered behavior technician and as a graduate-level intern at Kennedy Krieger Institute's Neurobehavioral Unit Outpatient Clinic. Additionally, Anne served with AmeriCorps as an elementary literacy tutor and worked as a pre-kindergarten aide and a/er-school teacher at a school for gifted children. These diverse experiences have equipped her with the skills to engage in developmentally appropriate practice for individuals of varying abilities.
